Project Description

The “Gift of Sight – Free Eye Screening and Cataract Surgery Camp”, organized under the initiative and coordination of Rotary International’s “Unite for Good” campaign by the Rotary Club of Hetauda, Rotary Club of Gon17gabu, and 13 other Rotary clubs, was successfully conducted over a period of five days.
The camp was organized with the objective of providing free and quality eye care services to the local communities of the Indrasarovar area. A total of 350 individuals received comprehensive eye examinations during the program. Among them, 67 patients were diagnosed with cataracts, including three patients with serious conditions affecting both eyes.
On December 6, 2025, a medical team led by Dr. Sunil Thakali, Ophthalmologist at Hetauda Community Hospital, performed free cataract surgeries on 59 patients as part of the five-day surgical camp held at Khanikhet Health Post, Kulekhani–3.
“Gift of Sight is not merely a surgical intervention; it is a mission to restore hope and bring light back into people’s lives. We embarked on this campaign with the belief that there is no greater charity than the gift of sight
